Programs
A unique setting for a unique program.
Supported Employment
The
Supported Employment program enables persons with disabilities to work
competitively in regular jobs in the community. Support includes supervision,
training and transportation when needed.
Adult Development Program
The
Adult Development program provides independence and life skills training to
developmentally disabled adults to help them achieve the maximum physical and
mental functioning level possible. Training includes cooking classes, computer
classes, sewing, personal hygiene, literature, current events, etiquette,
physical fitness through War Memorial Fitness Center and scheduled leisure
activities. Each of these classes is based upon individual choice.
Center for Performing and Visual Arts
The
Arc Arts Center offers daily classes in drawing, painting, sculpting, ceramics
and framing. Throughout the year The Arc and their consumers show their artwork
through The Arc of Arkansas Art shows. Performing Arts is also a big component
of The Arc of Arkansas Arts Center. Classes in drama and self-expression
culminate into a weeklong summer camp known as The Arc of Arkansas Performing
Arts camp, which celebrated its 11th year
this summer. Performing arts camps each year that are directed by
credited actors and instructors. The camp is a partnership with The Arc
Arkansas and the University of Central Arkansas Occupational Therapy department.
The camp is funded by The Arc, The Knights of Columbus, The Frost Foundation
and local donations.
Targeted Case Management
Targeted Case Management is a service
provided to persons with developmental disabilities by a certified Targeted Case
Manager. This is a one-on-one program designed to facilitate the coordination of
services and resources for the individual in order to promote independence and
to enhance their quality of life.
Personal Care
Personal Care is a service provided to
individuals with disabilities by certified Personal Care Aides. The program is
designed to allow individuals with disabilities to remain in their own home by
providing assistance with meal preparation, shopping, laundry, housework and
transportation for medical purposes.
Residential Living Services
Residential Living Services allows
people with disabilities to live independently in a residence suited to their
abilities. Residential opportunities range from structured, closely supervised
homes with live-in staff to semi-independent and independent apartments or
houses. The Arc is a unique provider of independent housing opportunities in
Arkansas with the remodeling of the Trinity Court facilities on Main St. in
downtown Little Rock, to the newly renovated Eastside Loft apartments, formally
Eastside Junior High school.
